Journey to The Cabin

Sharing our Adventures and Work at Double Dog Cabin! Vacation and Get-a-away Cabin for now . . . future retirement home!

Max and I have purchased several reference books for the cabin, they include . . .

· Texas Snakes by Dixon and Swerler
· The Field Guide to Birds TEXAS by National Geographic
· Davis Mountains Vistas by MacLeod

After looking that the Modesta Canyon Trail Guide we picked up last year, it looks like there are several other books that will be interesting to have . . .

· Scat and Tracks of the Desert Southwest – J.C. Halfpenny – which is at the top of the list.

· Trees and Shrubs of the Trans-Pecos and Adjacent Areas – A.M. Powell

· Grasses of the Trans-Pecos and Adjacent Areas – A.M. Powell

· Cacti of the Trans-Pecos and Adjacent Areas – A.M. Powell and J.F. Weedin

Must Haves Down the Road

· Edible and Medicinal Plants of the West – G.L. Tilford

· Edible and useful Plants of Texas and the Southwest – D. Tull

· Rainwater Harvesting for the Mechanically Challenged – S.Bans and R. Heinichen This is on my list, I am not Max needs it. I am the Mechanically Challenged one.
